Last Friday a 5th grade student in California paid the ultimate price for fighting.
The police investigation is not complete, but some facts are clear: the planned, after-school fight was brief (less than a minute). Friends of the participants said the fight was "over a boy." Both girls walked away seemingly okay. Later one of the girls died as a result of a blood clot in the brain.
Fighting is dangerous. It should not be taken lightly. It should not be used to resolve petty differences. Fight for your life, and for your loved ones' lives. Period.
